Queens Jewish Alliance for Action Endorses Avi Cyperstein For City Council, Joining Leading Rabbis, Educators, Community Leaders

The Queens Jewish Alliance for Action (QJAA) announced their endorsement of Avi Cyperstein for district 29 of the New York City Council. The QJAA is an influential coalition of Orthodox Jewish community leaders and advocates based in Central Queens known for a commitment to organizing and getting out the vote for candidates they endorse. The QJAA was widely influential in deciding a City Council election by turning out thousands of Jewish voters in a February special election for now-Council Member James F. Gennaro. QJAA includes community activists like Nechemia Hoch, Sorolle Idels, Meshulam Lisker, Jennifer Martin, and Alan Sherman.

QJAA member Rabbi Yaniv Meirov said, “Avi has a longstanding history of staunch dedication to the Jewish community and to Queens at large through his consistent advocacy and non-profit work. Avi has been hard at work since the day he announced his candidacy building deep connections to all facets of the district and within all confines of the Jewish community. I am thrilled and confident that Avi will be a force in improving the quality of life for Jews across Queens and New York City.”

QJAA member Shabsie Saphirstein said, “We are proud to support a product of our neighborhood. Avi lives, works, volunteers as a first responder, runs the local non-profit Chaverim of Queens that he co-founded, and has been educated in our community. We are excited to support his candidacy that stands directly in line with our values and those of the institutions we hold dearest.”

Cyperstein’s unwavering support from the Detectives Endowment Association solidifies his commitment to community safety, quality of life issues, and safer streets. The endorsement comes as Cyperstein’s momentum among Jewish Queens residents continues to accelerate. Recently, Cyperstein earned the coveted Jewish Press endorsement.

Cyperstein’s candidacy holds strong the needs of our youngsters and seniors, highlighting his long standing professional work in the healthcare industry and his passion for mental health advocacy.
